We just returned from a relaxing week in Basque Country, Spain. The idea was to drive from Bilbao all the way to Biarritz in France, but we didn’t get further than Bilbao, San Sebastián and some villages in between (saving supposedly lovely Biarritz for next time). One of the highlights of our little trip was our apartment in San Sebastián (long live Airbnb!). It was in an old farm that had been in the owner’s family for a century and had been completely renovated a couple of years ago. The result was quite impressive – everything inside the building is new but has been designed with respect for the traditional Basque building style. Then there were that breath-taking view of San Sebastián’s bay and friendly owner Josu. Just perfect!
