An Apple A Day…. can...

There’s so much to see and do at An Apple A Day. Play, learn, create, eat, drink, buy – everything is possible in this lovely kids concept store in my hometown Utrecht. In the front there are coffee and cake, then come the toys, books and most adorable children’s clothing, and in the back a special space has Read more…

Stripes, monsters, mice

Stripes, monsters, mice – it’s just a selection [read: my last week’s purchase] of the crazy cool things they sell at An Apple A Day, the kids concept store in Utrecht that is close to becoming my one-stop address for a special children’s gift or piece of clothing for my little ones. Me, my family and I

So, talking about pumping… (yeah, I know, it’s been a while. This post has been waiting for months to be posted… Sorry!) Last year Oscar arrived to our little family. I said it before but I’am saying it again: the thankfulness and happiness – wow. This might be my own, sometimes (ok, since the birth Read more…

Do it Duplo

Rosa (2) loves to build. Towers and houses are her favorite. Ideally the blocks are divided into categories (rectangles, squares, arches) before stacked carefully. Assistance is rarely accepted and after construction is finished, deconstruction usually follows soon to make place for a new creation. On 30 November 2014 our son Oscar was born. We’re so happy and thankful. Birth card design again by our dear friend Lasse Kusk (Berlin), letterpress by DE POSTHUMUSWINKEL (Amsterdam). The little anchor represents hope and the symbol has been built over the geometrical shapes used for our daughter Rosa’s card.

Croc pile

I’m in love with these little wooden crocodiles, that try to look tough but meanwhile are the cutest little creatures I can think of. They are designed by Karl Zahn for the lovely AREAWARE (you already know I’m a fan of their wooden toys) and can be stapled in a dozen ways (hence their stage name Read more…

More happy bags!

Oh, how I couldn’t resist the happiness… A while ago, when Daan (= lovely husband) had teared one of my Susan Bijl’s bags between the spokes of his bike (= not so lovely) and I was ready for some new colors (which Susan is always happy to provide), I ordered two new nylon bags from Read more…

I think I found the perfect Christmas gift for kids. Meet Cubebot. Cubebot was designed by David Weeks for the NY based Areaware that produces the most beautiful wooden everyday objects. As they say: “We believe that appreciation for beauty is central to what it means to be alive and want to embody this principle Read more…
